LabGremlin exists to help readers make better home-lab decisions through clear explanations, careful research, and transparent recommendations.
Editorial independence
Editorial conclusions are based on usefulness to the reader. Affiliate relationships, advertising opportunities, product samples, and commercial relationships do not guarantee coverage or favorable treatment. Advertisers and merchants do not receive approval rights over our conclusions.
Sources and claims
We prefer primary sources such as official product specifications, manuals, release notes, standards, and original test results. We may use reputable secondary sources for context. Important factual claims should be supported by a source, direct observation, or clearly labeled editorial judgment.
We distinguish among:
- Manufacturer claims: information supplied by a vendor and identified as such.
- Specification-based analysis: comparisons based on published documentation without claiming hands-on testing.
- Hands-on observations: findings from equipment or software we used directly.
- Recommendations: editorial conclusions based on the available evidence and stated assumptions.
Reviews and testing
We do not describe a product as tested or reviewed hands-on unless we used it. When practical, hands-on coverage identifies the test configuration, software versions, methodology, relevant measurements, and limitations. Results from one configuration are not presented as universal.
Products may be purchased by LabGremlin, borrowed, supplied as review samples, or accessed through another disclosed arrangement. Material relationships are disclosed in the relevant article.
Affiliate links and sponsorships
Some articles contain affiliate links. LabGremlin may receive a commission when a reader purchases through one of these links, at no additional cost to the reader. Affiliate status does not convert an article into a positive review. Sponsored material, if accepted, will be clearly labeled and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. Artificial intelligence
AI-assisted tools may support research organization, drafting, editing, formatting, or other mechanical work. AI output is not presumed accurate or publishable. A human editor remains responsible for source review, factual claims, disclosures, recommendations, and publication.
Corrections and updates
Technology changes quickly. We review and update articles when specifications, prices, availability, software behavior, or our assessment materially changes. Significant errors are corrected as promptly as practical. Readers can report a suspected error through the Contact page.
Conflicts of interest
Material financial, employment, personal, or vendor relationships that could reasonably affect coverage will be disclosed. When a conflict prevents fair coverage, we will avoid or reassign the work.
